Kim Robinson - The Ocean (natural setting #1)

So every person has there own definition of what "the wild" is. I myself think of it as a place that is natural setting that is unknown to a person and that is some sort escape from everyday life. One place that is very unknown to most people is the ocean. I'm not talking about the beach where tourists at thousands of beaches across the world visit each year. I'm talking about the real ocean, underneath the calm waves of the water. I recently took up scuba diving and are in the process of becoming a certified diver. In December of last year I went on my first open water dive off the coast of Va beach. Although it's not considered one of the best areas to go diving at it was a remarkable experience. If one considers the factor of being someplace that is unknown as wild, the ocean definitely qualifies. It's not a place that many humans get to venture into. The sights are completely different than what people see on a everyday basis, or even from sites seen in remote places. The entire experience below the water is different from what we as humans are use to. Humans aren't suppose to be suspended in air floating, we're not suppose to be somewhere that does not hold oxygen. Yes there is a certain aspect of human life when diving because without the equipment such as the BC or air tank and regulator humans wouldn't be able to go underwater for extended periods of time. However, no matter how much human technology is involved nothing replaces the feeling one has when a 5 foot shark swims past you in it's natural habitat, completely unrestricted. If someone wants a more natural setting than that they'd be hard pressed to find one.
