Melissa Morewitz- Making Nature Sacred #2
I really like the quote from Edward's on page 63 of Making Nature Sacred, "Tis very probable that that wonderful suitableness of green for the grass and plants... and how joyful do the birds seem to be in it." It talks about how all the colors of our world, the green of the grass and trees, the blue of our sky, the pinks purples blues of our flowers, all seem to fit together as one in perfect harmony. When you think about it, nature does always seem to flow perfectly together. I've never looked out into the wilderness and seen a color or animal that does not fit there. With all the animals, insects, flowers, plants, trees and etc. in nature, you'd think that something would throw off its perfect balance but it's never thrown off. He also talks about movements of the trees and the plants and flowers as they move in a calm harmony. I think this calm, this peace and perfect flow is what makes nature so brilliant. It inspires us to think and settles our nerves. Nothing can cure a bad day like observing the collection of colors and becoming one with nature.
