I recently read the book Angel's & Demons by Dan Brown and thought it was awesome. It's honestly one of the only books that I have really gotten into and read from cover to cover. The book is about the battle for power between a secret organization called the Illuminati and the Vatican. Robert Langdon partners up with scientist Vittoria Vetra and attempts to save the Vatican from a super powerful anti-matter bomb which would destroy it and all the cardinals who have gathered within the Sistine Chapel to elect the next Pope. They travel all through Rome and unlock all kinds of secrets with many action packed scenes, but i wont ruin the ending for you.
This book really got me thinking about a few things though, especially the presence and purpose of secret societies or organizations like the Illuminati. Even though this is a fiction book, there are still a bunch of secret societies that are well known today, like the Skull and Bones at Yale and the Free Masons. Me being in the fraternity of Pi Kappa Phi, I don't quite see why a group of people wouldn't be proud of their morals, brotherhood, and beliefs. Since I earned the letters and the place in my fraternity, I'm proud to show it. But some of the secret society stuff does sound kind of cool...
