Samantha Lee: (Nature 1) City Summer Memories

A movie reel idealism to the light. It's always about the light with me. The light and the smell of things.I remembered smell of the city after being in the open country for weeks. The city burns, as well, trapped heat in the pavement and vehicles and smog and moisture. Air is stale but welcoming. There is a veiled novelty about the city. Getting on a bus at dusk with the just-comfortable coolness of summer night settling in. You've just had a long day walking, talking, holding and being alive. Bus seats are hard and comfortable, techno music and dreams of phone hacking await you at home. Why is the summer night so magical? The smells? The cool breeze? The warmth of another person beside you in the grass. Everything burns, with passion or memory or love or forgotten senses? The sun burns. I burn with memories.
