Kim Robinson - assigned reading #6

"Humans are creatures destined by nature for death but drawn by the spirit toward eternal life." Anne Bradstreet, Mediating on the Creatures in Early American Life, Making Nature Sacred page 41

The worst tragedies in life are when we lose those who are close to us. Human's fates are inevitable, we all must die at some point in time. However, more and more now people are trying to extend their lives as much as possible. New technologies arise everyday or scientists get that much closer to prolonging life. But should we as human's keep doing this? Should we try to extend our lives as long as possible? As I've said I'm not that religious of a person, but I do believe that their is some plan for our life and i do believe in fate. I may be foolish to say this at a young age when I'm in good health but I feel when it comes that point in time, that point when my life should end, I'll go without argument. Even when my grandpa wasn't in the best of health I felt like we should let him go, especially because he was suffering. As a race, humans try to play God too much, we try to intervene more than we should. Even though we yearn for eternal life we should let destiny take place.
