Appalachian Trail
Ever since reading a book about hiking the Appalachian Trail, I have always been interested in hiking at least part of it. I’ve only hiked once and it was just a day hike. But to be completely honest, it was the hardest thing I have ever done – mentally, physically, and even emotionally. In Peru we hiked up Wayna Picchu and it was pretty intense, and to add to it, the altitude made things a lot harder than they would have been. I think that after that, I could definitely spend a few days or couple of weeks on the AT hiking and exploring. I think that it would be a really good experience for me to get out there and experience nature in that sense where you are much closer with it more so than for a day. Of course being a bit of a girly girl, I might be held back by my fear of bugs, or the fact that I hate getting dirty, or that I refuse to go without a shower. But perhaps a trip like this would make me less worried about the little things in life and maybe I would grow up a little bit. Even though I haven’t experienced it for myself, I am positive it would be a good learning experience for anyone who is able to do it.
