Kelsey Woods- LOTS 3

In this text Lane claims that one of the things that can make a place holy is the willingness of the people to fight for the place. Maybe its the pacifist in me, but I just can not bring myself to accept an interpretation of God in which he supports his people being killed. From a defensive perspective, why would God keep his presence in a place that would get you killed to go into? If God created the earth, then he may communicate with us whenever and where ever he would like, if corrupt humans invade his space, the God I belive to exist would go somewhere safer. From the offensive perspective, to be honest, I'm completely baffeled as to how someone could kill in the name of God. I have seen too much misguided and hypocritical behavior in this world to ever trust someones judgement on whether or not someone should live. Therefor, I do not see any reason someone should start a war to try and reclaim a place. I guess this part of the book made me realize that God may use the earth to reach us but when push comes to shove, the material world is the material and God is above it.
