I was surfing the web and I noticed PETA 2 has a new campaign. Their slogan says, “Meats not Green”. Their logo is a green cow. This definitely caught my eye so I decided to click the link and see exactly what they were talking about. On PETA’s website, they state, “According to a 2006 U.N. report, the meat industry produces more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, trucks, planes, and ships in the world combined.” I found this evidence to be very startling. They also say that animals that are raised for meat, eggs, and milk make enormous amounts of greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. By switching to a vegetarian diet, you can help save our planet by not only reducing these greenhouse gas emissions, but by also preventing habitat destruction, and reducing population! I, personally, have been a full vegetarian for over three years and am glad every day that I made the decision to become one.
