Brendan McElroy- View at Schooley’s Mountain Park
About two miles deep into Schooley’s Mountain Park in Long Valley, New Jersey is one of the most beautiful sights any man has ever set eyes on. In a clearing through a bountiful number of trees stands an opening. In that opening there are many rocks which lead one out to a ledge were the entire town of Long Valley can be seen. Visible from that ledge are miles of corn fields and an entire mountain range. The corn fields are all in perfectly straight rows, all producing the harvest for that coming year. In October, when all the leaves have changed, are red, yellow, and orange leaves covering the entire mountain range. Also visible is the small center of Long Valley that consisting of ‘mom and pop shops’, a gas station, and three churches. This overlook is one that if described in words, would not be given enough justice. It is one of the most beautiful places these eyes have ever seen.
