I decided I needed a beach day, and no better place to go that the quiet 44th street. It was just far enough away from the craziness of the tourists, but there were also not many locals around. I laid down for a while, trying to allow some of the sun to soak into my skin, but I got bored of that rather quickly. Instead, I sat up, and decided to take it all in. I took a handful of sand and lifted it up, allowing the sand to stream through my fingers, back to the ground. I watched intently as the millions of grains of sand mixed back together. It looked so cool to just watch them fall from my fingertips, from where I could see a distinct difference in each grain of sand, to the ground, where all the other gains mixed in so it all looked the same.
Then, I looked out into the water to see a large sail boat slowly streaming across the ocean. Probably only 600 yards from where I was sitting, I marveled at the fact that this boat was gliding across the water. It looked so sleek, and perfect. The water, with limited waves, was a clear glassy greenish color, and watching the boat sail over it was amazing. I just took some time to marvel as the beauty of the day.
