Ryan Rusbuldt- Outdoor experiance
Last week I went paintballing in Aldie, VA. There are different types of scenarios and games you can play, and i choose to play "speed ball". Speed ball consists of either 3, 5, 7 man teams against each other in a very narrow section or the course. I have played in tournaments around the state and i have never played on synthetic Field turf before. Well, I have played football on turf Fields but not paintball. I'm not gonna lie.. man made turf is pretty sweet to play on because you don't have to worry about mud flying up and getting on your mask so you cant see. Also you don't have you worry about mud and grass getting in the barrel or your gun when your sliding. The downfall of playing on turf is that you slide forever. I slide by a couple of bunkers and that turned out bad for me, because i got my ass lit up. In tournaments the courses use inflatable bunkers which help players hide a little better than wood ball, considering wood ball uses mother nature for cover, with the help of some man made bunkers. But playing on the Turf field got me thinking about the "nature" of the game and how it was started. It was never played on turf (except on indoor courses) and made me wonder if it was making the sport better or worse. I think it makes it more fun, but i did miss the regular old dirt and mud because it slows me down when I'm sliding.
