Jessica Buhler ~The beach

To me, the beach is one of the most sacred wilderness’ of them all. It encompasses all that is thought of when speaking in terms of sacred wilderness. The beach represents the beginning, the start of a new day, and perhaps a new life. With the sunrise, the dawn of happiness and appreciation spring into mind. It is a symbol of hope and peace of mind. It can be the ideal place to be connected to God through its beauty and serenity. The gentle crashing of the waves upon the shore is a reminder of the ripples in life that may affect us, however like waves, they will always recede. The connection between the land, sea, and God make it the ideal place for one to find oneself. God created the earth, but the beach is where he is most evident because like God it is vast and unknown.
