Justin Mawdsley-Kull, Robert. Solitude: Seeking Wisdom in Extremes: A Year Alone in the Patagonia
This article talks about how Robert Kull sought to study the effect of wilderness and solitude on a human being. For his Ph.D. dissertation he built a cabin within the harsh Patagonian wilderness and documented his physical observations. He chose not to talk so much about his own mental and emotional interactions with the wilderness that surrounded him, but he does describe other people’s interactions of solidarity in wilderness as well. This article gives us a primary view of one man’s experience within the Patagonian wilderness, and how it effected him physically as well as what he gathered from his experience. I would love to undertake an experience like that, maybe not for as long, cause i feel like i would get cabin fever, but i mean the whole idea of removing yourself from society for a little while and being all by yourself seems like an interesting experience to undertake. I'd probably go crazy though cause i like being around people...
