Chrissy Jackson: Student Topic 4

Out of the four seasons, autumn is my favorite. When the leaves turn colors, it is one of the most beautiful sights to see. I adore the red leaves, but they all are very prettily done. My favorite thing to do in the autumn is to take long walks right before dusk. The air has started to get cold, but it isn't a hard, bone-chilling cold; it is more like a crisp, fresh cold, the kind that wakes you up and makes you feel alive.

I think the reason I like autumn so much is because, as a child, my family and I used to pile into the car and go for a drive. It was mother's favorite time of the year, and we would drive on all the backroads so she could see the trees. The radio would always be blasting oldies, and Dad would let us roll down all the windows. It was good, quality family time.

I don't really like it once the leaves start to fall, though. I mean, it fine at first, but once the trees are bare, it doesn't look pretty anymore. I lose that romantic, happy, alive feeling.
