My roommate, Shannon, and I have this awesome little place we fondly refer to as "Our Spot"! It is not what most people would call fantastic but it is special to us. It is actually the little white podium overlooking the soccer field by the tennis courts. And we only go there at night when it gets really quiet and everyone is gone. We like to go up to the top and look out over the field and just talk.
To me, it makes me feel like I'm on top of the world. When I look down on the field and across to the bleachers, I feel like I just won some great victory. It reminds me of a Roman colosseum. My imagination is always at work! I don't know what it is, but that spot makes me feel very powerful, like no one can possibly touch me.
What is it about certain places that make you feel like you're someone else? Or, maybe not that you're someone else, but just that who you are is good enough to be whatever you want to be?
