Alan Warden- Outside Reading #3
Orange County Register wrote an article about religious discrimination in a Children's Home. They home accused a counselor of religious discrimination when a group of kids she was supervising heard Christian music. She was suspended for six weeks without pay after she took the group of children to a pier that had christian music and merchandise. The Home claims the counselor violated her agreement by having unapproved religious activities. The festival on the pier was christian based and suggested themes. The counselors argument is that none of the kids asked to leave or told her they felt uncomfortable. I feel like if there was no harm then there is no foul. Unless a child had said that they were offended or anything then her actions are fine. I can however see my the Home is not backing down cause of her clause of no unnaprroved religious interaction. This is a interesting subject in America today, with the involvement of religon outside of places of worship. I am interested to see how the case unfolds.
