Alan Warden- Making Nature Sacred #3
On page 206 of Making Nature Sacred Berry states "making peace with Creation isn't an ethical obligation, if daily consumed by Christ, it becomes an act of communion such communion acknowledges the violence epidemic to natural processes." I dont go to church or anything like that, but i do seethe natural violence embedded in this world. Its more than humans killing humans, or humans killing animals. Voilence goes all the way down to animals killing animals and beyond. Violence is required for survival in the world, something must die in order for one to eat. Even picking a tomato or pulling a natural grass, your still "killing" it. When man needs food, something muct die. Its not an act of hatred or murder, but the natural way of life. A hawk will eat worms, a snake eats mice, bugs eat smaller bugs or waste. All natural in life, and required for life to sustain. I recognize in life my blessings, and that im on top of the food chain. I dont believe that church is the only instrument to true understanding in this life, man can make their own decisions, that is my path.
