Alan Warden- Making Nature Sacred #2
In Making nature sacred Leopold ethical conduct states that "it makes sense only in relation to something we can see, feel, understand, love, or otherwise have faith in." I agree with his idea that it is hard to understand something that you can't relate to, or have some experience towards. My beliefs and values are all based off my experiences, or something i have read or understood. I will not live by something i haven't experienced or understand. Many people on this planet would excuse the fact that they didn't know about something to believe in something. They would rather believe in the unknown than take the time to discover their own set of beliefs and values. Leopold also states that in order for man to accept this code a long evolution of morals must develop. People who have no moral compass or ethical value will never grasp the idea that in order to be ethical you must first believe in something. This country's ethical code is very much skewed, many times the difference of right and wrong is which side gets hurt worse. This country needs to develop morals and ethics before its too late.
