Seeking Sacred Place-Chelsea Gilbert

There are many places in the world seen as sacred by people. Each one has its own meaning and significance. My sacred place is not a mountain top or a famous place, but a very common place for me: my bedroom. While in my bedroom I have freedom to be myself and be by myself. It's the only place in the world no one else has power to enter if they choose. I love my bedroom not only for the ability to be alone, but because it's the only bedroom, other than at college, that I've ever lived in. It's been with me my whole life and it holds all the precious memories of my childhood. It was where I went when I was sick, had a bad day at school, or when I had a fight with my parents or a friend. It's the one place in the world I can call "my own." One day I'll move out of this bedroom and into a new own at my own house. I know the new room won't have the same meaning as mine now.
