John Weatherford- Halo effect on Mt. Rainier
The picture of the halo effect on Mt. Rainier made me think about how many mountains are consider sacred places. The way mountains look and how the stick out from the surrounding landscape make them sacred to many people. Mountains have very different weather systems, which produce the halo effect and other weather abnormalities. These changing weather patterns contribute to the sacredness of the area. Mountains are very beautiful but mysterious places. I find mountains, like Mt. Rainer mysterious places because I do not know what is at the peak. There is always a draw to mountains because of their vastness and beauty.
