Brynne Valla--Topic of my choice #4

A long time ago in class, we saw a slide show of pictures from Mesa Verde in Colorado. Today in class we talked about how the structure of DisneyLand and the Holy of Holies promote exclusive experiences for certain people. Whlie we were discussing today's lecture, I thought back to those pictures of Mesa Verde, specifically to the ceremonial pits the cliffdwellers created. This, too, allowed for only certain people to participate in religious/sacred ceremonies. Having been to Mesa Verde a few summers ago, I can clearly recall the little indentations in the ground which people used to experience a transcendent being. It was interesting to equate this place with something as materialistic as DisneyLand and try to correlate how these two very different places can both be considered ritualistic and thus sacred as a result of their structures.
