Alan Warden- Viewing Nature Interactively/ Lion Bridge Walk

Anne Dillards quote "Nature runs wild because God, too, is an untamed lover of freedom" basically sums up my experience today. The weather was nice with scattered rain drops, the wind was calm and at times alive. Nature is unscripted and free, just like the quote says. When i was walking the trail i really started to see how ordered but free nature and life really is. There were the ordered flower clumps amongst the vines, ordered but free. As i walked, the wind would remind me of its life by blowing through the trees and moving branches. As if the wind was saying "look at me", its calm but untamed. The rain would linger off in the distance then spit a couple drops to remind us of us presence. Nature is alive and free, life is ordered but random. I would see pretty flowers basically growing up out of  the tangled trees, the random beauty of nature. Nature picks times to show its life, from the random sunflower that pops out of the pavement to the refreshing april rain showers, nature is untamed. With the untamed aspect of nature comes the bad as well, God is loving but God is fair, God will show you the good as well as the bad. Natural disasters happen all the time, its not that God has abandoned you, its that nature is free of Gods will, as well as God is all things, good and bad. I saw life and nature today, untouched by humans, free to take its course. As i walked out of the trail i stopped for a second to look out onto the lake, the clouds had broken ever so slightly to allow the sun to shine on the water. For that split second, the sound of the cars drowned out, peoples voices faded, all that was apparent was nature. The way the sun bounced off the water was refreshing, almost as if it was smiling to me, like thanking me for my visit. It was nice, peaceful, nature is always changing, but for that split second it was unchanged, unbothered, real. Life moves so fast, but sometimes when you just stop, you see the overlooked aspects of life that can truely change your day, even your outlook on the ever changing world.
