Tyler Million - Experiencing Nature #1
Over spring break a couple friends and I climbed Old Rag Mountain in Northern Virginia. While my friends were just going for fun I was trying to experience some of the things we had talked about in class. This past semester has been weird for me and part of it was centralized around some personal soul searching and I believe this hike about half way through the semester really helped. Simply sitting atop the rocks along the eastern approach and looking out over the valley below alleviated many of the worries that occupied my mind and I could focus on the things that were really bothering me. Beyond the personal gain of this trip it was a great time to catch up with two very close friends from high school. We started a bit late in the afternoon so the last hour was walked in the dark. Walking through the dark forrest with close friends reminiscing about the past was an experience I will not soon forget.
