Tyler Million - Annie Dillard's Interrogation of creation

In his book Gatta discusses Annie Dillard and her “interrogation of creation”. I thought this was interesting concept that I realized I do myself. Gatta describes this idea as a mixture of praise and protest, appreciating the beauty of nature yet wondering why it is. Whenever I’m out in nature this is my principle thought process as well. I can stand at the top of a mountain and see the awesome works of god but I have to wonder why? Why make the world around us so large? Why make us work so hard to see this beauty?
