Colleen Cook Nolan Trail

We went on a class trip over to the Nolan Trail one day. We all seperated to have alone time through the wilderness. As I walked along the trail I noticed more and more sounds around me. I could hear the wind and it was blowing other plants causing them to make sounds as well. There were birds chirping very calmly which I liked. I noticed all the color there is. Looking around I saw lots of green. There are so many plants, including huge trees, that are all blooming this season so there were very green leaves everywhere and small flowers. There were purple flowers, mayapples, and white dogwood which I found so pretty! I didn't feel any pressure around me or felt no judgement. It was such a friendly, welcoming area to sit and relax. I found a bench so that's what I did. Things I heard reminded me of things in my life. I could hear trains and planes traveling through and I thought about how my parents were getting ready to leave this summer to Ohio to visit their old friends. I had taken off my shoes when I sat down and I could feel the sand and dirt on the ground. Along with little stones and sticks. I started to get exciting about summertime and going to the beach where there is hot sand! There were memorial stones that were engraved with people's names as remembrances for them. It was nice to walk around by myself. I think if I had been walking and talking with someone else that I wouldn't have thought about most of the stuff that I did. It was a nice happy experience.!
