As the Eliade insisted, “Every sacred space implies a hierophany, an irruption of sacred that results in detaching a territory from the surrounding cosmic milieu and making it qualitatively different” (Page 46). I viewed this quote as that a sacred place is described as an environment, where individuals can explore their true faith and how to practice their faith. A church, temple, mosque, synagogue and worshipping grounds are all sites where people of different religions can go to participate in their faith. The place of practice is one of the most important factors to a religion, it gives a believer a setting of peace that they can go to escape reality.
These settings offer many different way of practicing ones religion. In a church one may take their hat off or put one on. In Asian temples many take their shoes off before entering, this is seen as giving respect to their god. For every different religion there is a different practice, for each different practice there is a setting where believers go to participate in their faith. These settings are very sacred to ones religion.
