Brendan McElroy #2 Outside Reading

While reading an article discussing the first people to roam the earth, I began to think about the impact of other peoples presence on places could influence the experience of others. The article says, “Since the first human beings started to walk around on the planet they have been leaving their mark upon the landscape; sometimes unintentionally and other times very deliberately.” This is interesting because something that someone left behind, may become sacred or be very profound to someone else. Did the wilderness have that person leave their mark on purpose so that the spirit could use it for someone else? Or did it just happen by chance?
Another idea is, what happened to those first humans who began to walk around? Were they able to have spiritual experiences with landscapes even though there was nothing left before them? And maybe their experiences could be more sacred and profane because there was nothing that went before them. Thus making their experiences more natural. Just another thought that cross my mind while reading this.
