Melissa Morewitz- Making Nature Sacred #3

On page 65 of Making Nature Sacred, Edwards discusses the material world, " Nonetheless, the material world does not exist solely to satisfy the will, pleasure... -as well as a "creature" in its own right." I think what Edward's means in these couple sentences is that, while nature is home for the wildlife of the world, the material world was built by humans to be their home. In this light, the material world serves just as much purpose as the natural world because as God's creatures, humans built a world that suited their wants and needs which surpass those of animals and insects, etc. I don't really know if I'm understanding this correctly but I also think he sees the material world as part of God's beauty because it is built upon the land he gave us already and therefore it is adding on to the natural world? Who knows if I'm right about this but it's what I got from this paragraph!
