Lindsey Pritchett - The Third Axiom of Sacred Place

"Sacred place can be tred upon without being entered." p.19

This quote refers to physically being in a place but not actually entering it spiritually. There are multiple layers to each individual's self. There is the physical self, the mental self, the emotional self and the spiritual self. I find it rather interesting how so many people can physically be in a place without actually entering it fully. I find it difficult to enter nature in only my physical form without bringing some form of my spiritual self along with me. Nature, to me, seems to have a talent for subconsciously assuring that those who tred upon its ground enter it physically and spiritually. This serves to make nature into a sacred place. However, if someone abstains from recognising a place as sacred, such as it was the the Wintu tribe in California, then the sacred place cannot be entered. In situations such as these, sacred place is only tred upon.
